Design Services

Logo Design

  • For info on my two logo services and their FAQs click here

  • You pay a non-refundable 50% to book via transfer or paypal invoice.

  • I'll then email you the brief form which you need to complete and return to me before work can start

  • You pay the final 50% once we have both agreed on final designs, before i release them to you

  • Timeframes vary for every client, the whole process can take anywhere between 2 weeks and 2 months, depending on my workload at the time (always takes a bit longer towards Christmas) and it also depends on your requirements and decisiveness.

  • I will not copy other designs that you show you me you like, we can take some inspiration but can never copy

  • Any of my ideas which you reject along the way remain my IP which i am free to use elements from in future projects

  • For large scale, large budget branding projects, i will make local recommendations. I don't claim to be a branding expert. My services focus mainly on your logo requirements.

  • For both logo services, you are paying for my design time only excluding physical stationery items. You pay separately for any stationery items to be made after your slot.

  • Stationery to be handmade afterwards can take up to10 working days (2 weeks) - i will advise on how to order it along the way.

Design Days

  • To book a dedicated design day, you pay a non-refundable 50% to book via transfer or paypal invoice.

  • I'll then email you the brief form which you need to complete and return to me ASAP, but no later than 24 hours before the start of your slot. Give me plenty time to read it through.

  • You pay the remaining 50% nearer the end of your slot once you're happy with the final designs - before i release them to you.

  • Clients are required to stick to their original brief and avoid making any major changes to the design brief throughout their slot. Happy with minor tweaks until we get it right but please try to be decisive. Any major brief changes once work has already started would incur additional charges.

  • Please also be honest when giving me feedback on ideas - you can't offend me and i'd rather hear that you weren't 100% happy with my ideas and work on getting it right for you than give you an end design you weren't happy with because you were too polite to say. I don't expect to get it right first time for everyone, i love getting clear direction from you.

  • My dedicated design days and what is covered in them are what i believe to be reasonable, if you go over the allocated time, you'll be asked to pay additional fees before i release your final design files, or you could book another slot. We'll just play it by ear as we go.

  • If the delay is caused at my end i wouldn't charge you additional fees. This would be things like issues with tech, software, equipment, or sickness or other unlikely unforeseen circumstances. If any of these things meant i had to cancel your booking all together i would refund you fully or re-book you on an alternative date.

  • Dedicated Design Days are just paying for my design time they do not include physical stationery items. You pay separately for any stationery items to be made after your slot.

  • Your final design files will be emailed to you within 48 hours from the end of your slot - not always at the end of your slot although i will try my best. This is because getting your master files prepared for you in their correct formats takes a bit more time and concentration.

  • Stationery to be handmade afterwards can take up to10 working days (2 weeks) - i will advise on how to order it along the way.

  • Only one client per booking

  • One client can book more than one day though if you wanted to and think you need more of my time

  • Branding slots are fulfilled flexibly alongside my other work. They are not dedicated time. I will update you regularly throughout these slots, and will respond to any of your queries within 24 hours.

Stationery Orders

Cancellations/ Returns/ Exchanges

  • You have 24 hours after placing an order to cancel at no cost. After this 24 hour period, I generally don’t accept cancellations unfortunately, and refunds won't normally be given for cancellations made after 24 hours. The reason for this is because I will start prepping your items and/or order in the supplies to make your order 24 hours after your order is placed, and I can't refund once I've paid for supplies and/or work has begun (my time isn't free). But please contact me if there is a problem with an order that you’ve placed to see what we can work out.

  • Unfortunately, because of the nature of certain items, unless the following orders arrive damaged, defective, or the wrong item arrives, I won’t be able to accept returns or exchange requests for:

o Customised, personalised or bespoke orders including digital designs

  • For damaged, defective, returnable items however, please contact me within 14 days of delivery with photographs of the issue. Ship back to me within 30 days of delivery. This is if your actual stationery inside the parcel has arrived below standard. Photo proof on arrival is compulsory.

  • Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs of all other orders eligible for returns (eligible items are when your item arrives damaged, defected or if the incorrect item arrives, photo evidence required)

  • If you simply change your mind and wish to exchange a non-personalised item which you’re able to send back to me in new condition this is ok. I accept this and will exchange for an item of the same value or of higher value where you pay the shortfall providing you pay for the return postage and it is returned to me in new condition.

  • Rustic Rascal’s main shipping provider is Royal Mail.

  • Shipping is 1st class as standard, and charged per parcel size and weight. Tracked upgrades are available.

  • Note that the following Processing Timeframes are purely for me processing your items until I dispatch them. Shipping times are to be factored in thereafter.

    • Non-personalised, standard items - 2-3 working days normally*

    • Personalised, Pre-existing items (E.g. a ready-made design which you personalise with details like a name and date) - 5 working days normally, up to 10 working days at the very latest during busy periods*

    • Custom Items (e.g. designed bespoke, specifically for your occasion. Like a portrait or a pet themed card) - No fixed timeframe can be specified due to the nature of bespoke work. It depends on the size and complexities of the request. Minimum 10 working days though. Likely to be a bit longer during busy periods. Bespoke timeframes will be agreed upon with Rachael in advance, if you're ordering way in advance of the occasion then you'll be asked to confirm what date you want to receive the item by, then you'll be booked in for a slot at nearer your date, your 10 working days timeframe wouldn't start until the beginning of your slot.*

    • Wedding Items, for larger orders like save the dates and invitations, 10 working days minimum. Invites however are likely to take nearer 20 working days (4 weeks) I may take more or less time depending on your order quantities; if you're having a small wedding with only 20 invites this might take me the 10 days as opposed to larger weddings with say 80 invites I’d need more like 6 weeks for this. As detailed in the Custom Items section, no fixed timeframe can be applied to all, you'll be kept posted on an individual basis.*
      • “Why does it take so long?” – I hear ya!
I run this business by myself. I juggle all kinds of orders from kids birthdays and wedding invites, to digital design and branding/logo requests, to small business stationery like business cards and stickers.
I handmake most of your items in-house. There's no big team of staff. Its literally me designing, printing, handcutting, quality checking and packing your items. (Don't forget the client consultations, ordering in supplies, bookkeeping, post office runs, website maintaining, social media upkeep, i could go on!)

    • *Please also note that these timeframes are providing everything is running smoothly. If i’m having stock or printing drama, or I’m off ill for example and I need longer, you’d be kept posted of any unexpected delays on an individual basis.

  • Overall flattened designs are copyright of Rustic Rascal Papercraft. You, or a third party, cannot copy or reproduce designs in any way and claim them as your own. It takes a lot of time, brain power and imaginative creativity for makers like me to create the things we make, so please be respectful. In the same way that Rustic Rascal will never knowingly copy anyone else’s work, even if this is requested of me.

  • I’m happy for you to show me pictures of other things you have seen online, however I will never directly copy anything for you, please buy from the original creator. Happy to take some inspiration from it and create you something unique if you are open to that though.

  • Some Rustic Rascal items are derivative works, meaning fonts/graphics featured within some overall designs may be used under a commercial licence, purchased by Rustic Rascal Papercraft and should, therefore, not be used or re-produced without prior consent of the creator of such font/graphic element. Rustic Rascal Papercraft does not claim to own or hold copyright over these individual, unflattened elements. I like to support other small creative businesses by purchasing their commercial fonts/graphics, this also helps me manage my time more effectively.

General Points

  • Some of Rustic Rascal Papercraft’s handcrafted items feature small or detachable parts (including stick-on embellishments or ribbon/string, for example). It is the buyer's responsibility to ensure these are kept out of reach of children and animals. Rustic Rascal Papercraft accepts no accountability for any harm caused due to detachable parts being undone or becoming loose and potentially unsafe through the unintended use of their products. The same applies to any fire or damage caused to a property as a result of the unintended use of Rustic Rascal Papercraft’s items. Basically, don't let your toddler play with the ribbon from around your invite, and don't lay your business cards on top of your hair straighteners!

  • Similar to the above, Rustic Rascal Papercraft accepts no accountability for any data theft that may occur from the misplacement or careless storage of one of my handmade items which contains personal information… For example, say I make your wedding invites, but you or one of your wedding guests leaves an invite laying open in a café, showing your address and mobile number on the rsvp section, and your data is compromised this way, that’s not Rustic Rascal’s responsibility. Neither would I be accountable if your invites fell out of a shipping van in transit and blew all over the M8. You get the drift.

  • Because some of my stationery is handmade and handcut to size in-house, sometimes finishes, colours and textures can vary slightly and may not be 100% identical, however, I will do the best I can with my human hands to make orders of large volumes have as close to 100% uniformity as possible, I can’t guarantee this though. E.g. if you were to stack up business cards all handcut by me, the edge of the stack may not appear or feel completely flush the ay they might if cut by an industrial machine, but all the cards individually will be top notch!

  • Some colours on screen may appear slightly different to the colour in person. Two reasons for this – 1. the screen you use and your brightness/blue filter settings will affect how an image appears online, think about it, for you and I to both be seeing the exact same thing right now we’d have to be using the same device AND have our brightness and blue light filters set at the same level… quite unlikely eh?! and 2. Laser printing on recycled materials can sometimes affect the colours slightly, making them fractionally darker at times due to increased absorbency. I advise ordering samples where possible to avoid disappointment!

  • There are a few services i cannot offer, such as printed tissue paper, printed postal packaging boxes, shiny foiled inks or spot uv printing for example. Further information regarding the services I can/cannot provide can be found in my FAQ section on the website www.rusticrascalpapercraft.co.uk.

  • All payments for goods are made securely online, through my online Wix or Etsy stores via card or PayPal (both have their own terms, conditions and privacy policy which is separate from those of Rustic Rascal Papercraft), or I can accept private payments for sales separate from my online stores by BACS or Card machine in person or at faires.

  • No cash or cheques please!

  • For personalised/custom orders, please ensure the information you supply for your stationery is the final draft and has been checked thoroughly by yourselves for spelling errors first. You will then be asked to approve proofs as well for the avoidance of Rustic Rascal Papercraft being held accountable for any clerical errors to the details. Check your proofs thoroughly! Where Rustic Rascal Papercraft has made a genuine mistake after you’ve approved a proof (remember I’m just a human being!), replacement items will be sent at no extra cost or an appropriate refund will be given, whichever the buyer prefers. E.g. if the proofs were all fine, but I make a clerical error after and delete a character just before hitting print, then I’d definitely refund or replace your item… that’s my butter fingers fault! However, I won’t replace or refund if the mistake was missed by the buyer at proof approval stage. If the proofs are approved with the mistake in it… sorry but it’s tough titties! My blunder = out of my pocket. Your blunder = out of your pocket. That’s why I ask you to check them thoroughly.

  • Proofs are free of charge and I don’t state a maximum amount, as long as we’re sensible about it. Please be reasonable with my time and try to be decisive!

  • You agree to Rustic Rascal Papercraft using images of your order to promote the service online and across social media platforms. If you do not consent to pictures of your order being shown online, you must confirm this with Rachael during the order process via email/message. I will not post spoilers where the date of an event is obvious on the stationery, and I will pixelate any spoiler details on images that I'm too excited not to share in advance of your event taking place!
